Andrew Nackman is an Emmy-nominated writer/director from Sleepy Hollow, NY. His primary passion is telling stories about friendship and human connection, and trying to find humor and optimism in life’s difficult challenges.

He was nominated for a 2023 Emmy Award!

He got the nomination for Outstanding Short Documentary for his episode MARK SCHULTZ: THE ULTIMATE VICTORY on the UFC’s animated, documentary TV series FIGHTLORE. This episode was also nominated for a 2023 Cynopsis Award as well. He directed two episodes in total in the series and also wrote/produced and/or edited 10 others.

He just completed his 2nd feature film, PAULIE GO! 

PAULIE GO! was distributed by 1091 Pictures, which came out in May 2022 to strong reviews and stars Tracie Thoms (Rent, The Devil Wears Prada), Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2, True Detective), Ethan Dizon (Spider-man Homecoming), and Bernard White (Matrix 2 and 3, Silicon Valley). PAULIE GO! is adapted from Andrew's award-winning short film PAULIE, which he directed as his thesis film in USC's MFA film production program. His short film PAULIE played at over 75 film festivals worldwide, won LACMA’s Art of Film Award and qualified for the Academy Awards Best Live Action Short Film, by winning the Grand Jury Prize at Palm Springs International ShortFest. 

Prior to directing PAULIE GO!, he directed the 2016 LGBTQ comedy 4TH MAN OUT.

Starring Kate Flannery (The Office), Parker Young (Imposters), Chord Overstreet (Glee), Jon Gabrus (101 Places To Party Before You Die) and Evan Todd (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), 4th Man Out won the audience award at Outfest along with 15 other best film awards at festivals, and was a NY Times critics pick. Andrew has also edited numerous feature films and documentaries, including Lauren Greenfield’s award-winning film, THE KINGMAKER, which premiered at Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.
